Be Back Soon!

We’ll be back soon, dear readers, but for now- we’re out of here!

We constantly talk about doing what makes you happy and getting outdoors and taking breaks and chasing your passions. Who would we be, to give that advice, if we didn’t do so ourselves! So Eric and I are running away on a cruise of the Caribbean!

I’ve been on many cruises in my life and when I met Eric (and fell for that goober), I knew I wanted to introduce him to one of my favorite forms of vacations. Though cruises sometimes have a stigma of being tacky or sleazy, I love them. They’re a great mix of relaxing, playing in the sun, seeing new places, having adventures, trying new things, meeting new people, and being catered to. You can visit multiple destinations and countries and only have to unpack your suitcase one time. If you’re going with a large group, you’re perfectly able to have alone time or time with everyone. You always feel safe, even when you are feeling crazy adventurous. You can meet people from all over the world, or you can choose to just chill with each other. There’s no pressure and no set itinerary (outside the ports of call). It’s a wonderful balance that I recommend to anyone.

Our first cruise was a mega cheap Carnival cruise we found through a discount site (which we’ll be sure to share with you when we get back!). We went in February and visited Nassau as well as a cruise-owned island, and we had a blast! Check out our personal Facebooks and Instagrams for all those pictures. We got off the boat moping because we wanted to go back!

So, this time, we splurged a bit more to craft the cruise experience we wanted. I had actually already been on the last cruise we took back in 2015 (everything was the same, down to the boat), so it made for a weird dynamic- I could tell Eric where the best bar was, how to find the hidden steam room, and where the best tanning deck was. Looking back, I regretted treating the experience that way; it could have dampened his impression of cruises. Luckily it didn’t and we both loved every bit of the experience, but I wanted something this time around that would be new to us both in every way possible.

This time, we’ll be cruising with MSC on the luxurious boat, The Divina. We’ve purchased some excursions in three of the four different ports of call (including George Town, Cozumel, and Nassau) and we’ll be visiting three places that neither of us have been to before. We both purchased drink packages, which saves a lot of money in the long run and takes the pressure off of relaxing with a cocktail. We’ll also be relaxing in Fort Lauderdale for a night on the way down, and stopping at Siesta Beach before returning home.

We can’t wait to share the experiences with you- it’s bound to be one of the best vacations in a long time (plus, we get to celebrate my birthday on the boat!). In the meantime, please keep sharing our articles and posts, and ask or comment with any questions or suggestions! We’ll be fielding them as soon as we get back.

Stay stressless! We’ll see you soon!

Nassau, we'll see you on Friday!
